NewCSI Rocks! (for Grades 6-9)CSI Rocks!Step into the role of a real-life investigator in this hands-on summer Crime Scene Investigation camp! Designed for students in grades 6–9, this engaging program introduces the science, critical thinking, and teamwork skills used to work investigations. Campers will learn the fundamentals of forensic science, including how to observe a scene carefully, collect and document evidence, and analyze clues such as fingerprints, shoe prints, handwriting, and basic blood pattern concepts (age-appropriate). Through interactive activities and simulated crime scenes, students will practice problem-solving, attention to detail, and logical reasoning while working in investigative teams. This is perfect for mature students with curious minds who enjoy science, puzzles, and teamwork. Canyon Spring Summer CampSummer CampSunsational Summer Camp is a DHS licensed child care program available from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM, for a daily fee. Please note we are closed on weekends and for holidays (see handbook and/or activity calendar). Summer Camp activities are enrichment focused to include weekly field trips & VIP presenters in addition to daily engaging activities through rotations including sports, art & crafts, literacy, stem and more. All students must be registered in advance. Sunsational Summer camp will run from June 1 - July 16, 2026. Camp locations are Canyon Springs, Greenbrier, Park Meadows and West Wing. Daily rate includes all field trips, activities, VIP presenters, and AM/PM snacks. Please note: Greenbrier and Park Meadows qualify for CEP ( Community Eligibility Provision with National School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program) - Greenbrier and Park Meadows will receive free lunch as part of CEP. Students attending camp at Canyon Springs and West Wing must bring a sack lunch. OPTIONAL weekly pizza lunch purchase may be selected during the registration process for Canyon Springs and West Wing. Conversion to Virtual Child CareTemporary child care for a specified period of time to coincide with students attending Free Safe Learning Space at their home school, as determined by the DVUSD Governing Board and Administration. This is a fee-based program and does not include your registration into FSLS or our school-based Before & After School Care programs. Child care is provided within our Before & After Care program from 6:30 AM until the start of school, and from school dismissal until 6:00 PM. All rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the B&A program and DVUSD apply. This is for students in grades K-8, age 5-14. Drivers Education - Summer ClassesDrivers EducationDeer Valley Unified School District's Community Education Department offers an Arizona Department of Transportation approved Drivers Education program for high school students including behind-the-wheel training for students that are at least 15 years, 6 months. Students must have their driving permit in order to receive the behind-the-wheel training. In addition, students must be currently registered in/attending an Arizona high school. Students who successfully complete the program, which requires 100% attendance, will receive a Certificate of Completion and the MVD will be notified electronically once the student has passed all required skills. Early Entry FIRST GRADE - Readiness TestGEarly Entry K-1 TestingChildren who are 6 years old by August 31, 2025 are eligible to enroll in first grade. However, children who turn 6 between September 1 and December 31, 2026 may be assessed to determine readiness for early entrance into first grade. The intent of early entrance is to identify highly capable children who miss the regular September 1 cutoff for first grade entrance. Early entry is specifically geared for children whose curriculum achievement level far exceeds the norm. In order to be considered for the early entrance exception, the child must exhibit advanced skills in language arts, mathematics, and in social, emotional and motor development as measured by tests administered by the Deer Valley Unified School District (DVUSD). Early entry first grade testing procedures are as follows: Complete online registration for "Early Entry First Grade Readiness Test", which includes submitting an online payment of a $75.00 non-refundable test fee at the time of registration. At the time/date of your child's test appointment, the following items MUST be presented: Receipt for the $75.00 test registration Child's ORIGINAL birth certificate Kindergarten grade report ***Failure to bring these items to the test appointment will result in your child not being tested.*** Registration opens February 15, 2026 for the 2025-2026 school year.
